Scott and Alyssa have been married since 2004. In April of 2006, they had their beautiful daughter Rylee. In July of that year, Scott's parents purchased a cottage in a relatively unknown piece of Lake Erie paradise named Volunteer Bay. In 2008, this family of three became a family of 4 when they welcomed their other beautiful daughter Emily to the mix.

 

Ever since both these children have been alive, they have been spending their summers in the splendor of Volunteer Bay. They have learned how to ride bikes here, walked in 4th of July parades, have had countless numbers of water balloon fights, slid down many slip n slides, skipped tons of rocks, jumped in plenty of waves, built scores of sandcastles, watched a multitude of outdoor movies, eaten copious amounts of  s'mores, stayed up way passed their bedtimes, shared thousands of laughs, given hundreds of hugs, and have received endless amounts of love.

 

Summers in Volunteer Bay are idyllic and that is why Team Mintus has embarked on this journey. It is their hope to one day pass down this legacy of fun, happiness, and love to their children's children, and their children's children, and their children's children's children. And to also share it with all of their friends and family.

 

Building the Catty Shack isn't just about building a house, it's about building a life that is worth living.
